Las Vegas

Colorado Springs
Sitting at 6,000 ft under the 14,000 ft Pikes Peak. Garden of the Gods serves red sandstone monoliths sandwiched between mountain and prairie.
Santa Fe
The oldest state capital in the US. Sand-colored adobe buildings, art galleries everywhere, and spicy green chile on the side of everything.
El Paso
The Rio Grande, with Ciudad Juárez right across the river. Desert spills into Texas — smoked brisket and the Franklin Mountains in the backdrop.
Austin
"Keep Austin Weird." The Texas capital with a thriving live-music scene (SXSW, ACL) and arguably the best smoked brisket on the planet at Franklin BBQ.
New Orleans
The French Quarter, jazz spilling out of every other doorway, gumbo and beignets. The Mississippi meets the Caribbean in a single city.
Clarksdale
The birthplace of the blues. The crossroads of 49 and 61 where, as legend has it, Robert Johnson sold his soul for a guitar. Juke joints after dark.
Brunswick
Small coastal town on the way south — gateway to the Golden Isles (St. Simons, Jekyll, Sea Island). Live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, shrimp boats in the harbor and the Marshes of Glynn before the final push to Florida.
Miami
The end of the road. Art Deco South Beach, Little Havana, a cafecito and bathtub-warm ocean. 4,700 miles from the Pacific — you've reached the Atlantic.
